Armada Music London Offices, “This is what it feels like”

Architecture, Commercial

Armada Music is the biggest independent dance music label in the world with offices in Amsterdam (HQ), New York, Laren (NL), and London. The label has its own club, radio and production studios, and hosts various live formats.

I photographed their new creative home at 4 Bath Place in the heart of Shoreditch to the sound of Grammy nominated Armin van Buuren, Loud Luxury and Lost Frequencies. GPAD architecture (delivery) and Pieter Laureys (Concept) have designed a workspace that reflects the energy of the music that the label supports, featuring state-of-the art studios, an event space to empower its global roster in the UK, and an office layout to attract new talent.

QOB interiors and Recording Rooms complete the 7,000 square-foot space, that spans six floors, with Orbit Architects supporting the project in a design management role.

The ground floor sets the tone, with a reception entrance feature of speakers leading into an area reimagined as a DJ booth, flanked by specialist lighting and an integrated sound system that immerses visitors in the label’s world from the moment they arrive. The concrete reception desk itself utilises upcycled, crushed vinyl records, which were added to the concrete mix, to create an immediate brand-relevant feature. Beneath street level, the recording studios offer a controlled acoustic environment, balancing technical precision with a modern aesthetic. The top floor opens out to a premier event space featuring L-Acoustics club-grade sound system and live streaming capabilities with a capacity of approximately 130 people and on the other floors are office space for up to 60 full-time employees.

Armada’s new London Creative hub is an integral part of its growth strategy, offering specialised support to dance artists, writers, and producers in one of the world’s most influential music markets.

Congratulations to all involved. This is one for the awards!
