Commercial Work

Jonathan Banks is an award-winning photographer with a passion for capturing humanitarian stories. Through the creativity of his commercial work, he can support impactful projects for charities around the world.

Capturing your vision, and powering your brand

Jonathan Banks is an award-winning photographer whose visual story telling creativity transcends into brand reportage and other types of commercial photography. He is recognised for his innovative approach to his assignments, creating powerful impactful images that engage audiences.

With over twenty-five years of commercial photography experience, Banks is as comfortable photographing on top of a power station, as at a garden party in a Royal Palace, or on a trawler in the Atlantic. Being diverse gives him the advantage of offering multiple types of photography to global corporations. This has enabled him to become the preferred photographer of many blue-chip clients including a number of tech companies, energy firms, and pharmaceuticals.

Banks diverse technical skillset for complex lighting and innovative creativity means that he is able to effectively capture the human side / essence of your brand. Banks is an effective communicator at all levels and integrates himself into being part of any team. He is an excellent problem solver, adapting quickly to changing conditions and technical challenges, remaining focused on the assignment in hand while working within agreed timelines and budgets. He values long-term relationships with the organisations that he works with.

Portraits

A Portrait can be a powerful representation of the human side of your organisation.

60% of any portrait photography is in the conversation that the photographer has with the subject. It is about making each person feel comfortable and confident in the moment.

Every portrait that Banks photographs, whether it is a natural reportage shot, posed on location, or in a studio, he strives to convey who the person is rather than just what they look like.

Brand Reportage

Visual storytelling through authentic and engaging photography is incredibly compelling with today’s better informed and visually aware audience. It is personalised imagery that will align with your copy to build a meaningful relationship with your audience.

Through Banks’ editorial and photojournalist experience, along with his commercial and technical skillset, he is able to create impactful visual content that enables companies to present who they really are. This retains your viewers on the website longer, leaving a lasting and memorable impression.

Advertising

Marketing and campaign photography can support your brand’s identity. Jonathan Banks’ photography is recognised for its creative human-centric approach and conceptual vision. His commercial work sees him photographing marketing campaigns for agencies, directly with brands, and for charitable organisations.

Banks’ diverse range of photography means that he can call upon any given type of photography for whatever the assignment requires. From interior to lifestyle or studio to portraiture photography, he always strives to produce innovative story-driven campaigns that inspire the audience. Banks enjoys collaborating with forward thinking brands and bringing their visual identity to life.

Annual Reports

Annual report photography illustrates a company’s performance. It is the most important form of communication with the shareholders, investors and sometimes the public.

The photography in any annual report should communicate a company’s achievements and success through genuine imagery of the company’s people, facilities, and work. It is there to highlight the philosophy of the organisation and vision for the future.

Each assignment is always very different and requires a unique approach to the annual report photography. Whether it is an executive portrait, or an image library of visual content, Jonathan Banks can manage budgets and coordinate any size of project.

Architecture

It is rare that a photographer will photograph architecture and interiors as well as everything else in Jonathan Banks’ repertoire. And yet, as well as being a renowned photographer in other areas, he is also an award-winning architecture and interiors photographer working with a stable of international architects, fit out firms and designers.

Architecture photography is the appreciation of the design of a building or structure within its environment. This means working with architects to understand and capture the essence of the design.

Corporate Interiors

Commercial interior photography is an understanding of the design attributes of a space and the ability of being able to creatively communicate them through dynamic imagery. Banks works with architects, interior designers, fit-out firms and the product design companies that supply the furniture, lighting and everything else that is featured.

It is his highly proficient technical ability, appreciation of light, passionate attention to detail and innovative approach that produces photographs that consistently win awards.

Leisure, hospitality and retail

Jonathan Banks’ award-winning interior photography covers a wide range of sectors including retail, leisure, and public spaces. He has worked with international hotel brands and photographed luxury retail spaces to showcase the experience of the spaces they have to offer. As with all architecture, interior, and lifestyle photography it is important to work with the design and marketing team to achieve the required photography.

His work regularly appears in architecture and interior design magazines.

Interior Details

Quality imagery is a reflection on what you do. Architecture and interior photography showcase the creativity of design and quality of finish. It is in the details that we see the fundamentals of your creativity and the attention to detail of your brand.
