Curating ‘Portraits of Resilience’ at the EEAS

Exhibition, Humanitarian

I worked with the communications and exhibition team on the order and positioning of the pieces whilst trying to film, take some photos and timelapse it all.

The EEAS partnered with the United Against Torture Consortium to host a conversation between the EU Special Representative for Human Rights, Victims and Survivors of Torture, and myself.

The “Portraits of Resilience” 26 June event serves as a vital reminder of the enduring importance of the Convention Against Torture. It also offers us an important opportunity to discuss practical steps to ensure that survivors are placed at the forefront of our collective efforts to eradicate these grave violations once and for all in line with the new Charter of the Rights of Victims and Survivors of Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment.

This exhibition showcases the remarkable strength and courage of individuals who have endured unimaginable hardships yet continue to inspire and persevere.

“Portraits of Resilience” is presented in collaboration with British photographer Jonathan Banks, TASSC International, REDRESS, Freedom from Torture and the survivors.

The exhibition will run until September 4th.
