Happy New Year 2024

Awards, Exhibition, General

January is a month of transition, reflecting on the previous year and looking forward to new beginnings. It is also a struggle to get back to work and the gym!

2023 was a “cocoon” change for me, which will hopefully metamorphosis into something new in 2024. I don’t want to give everything away just yet as there is much to look forward to in 2024.

At the beginning of 2023 I recognised that I needed a new website that reflected who I have become as a photographer and so employed the services of Orangery Creative. The team at Orangery spent time getting to know what distinguishes me from other photographers and set about building a website supported by a new brand identity. Watch this space as the new website launches next week.

2023 highlights included: –

Awards

Black and White Spider Awards, British Photography Awards, All About Photography Awards and the International Color Awards

Exhibitions and speaking engagements.

The Afghanistan and Central Asian Association (ACAA), London Peace Conference Forum, “Lens op de Mens” photo festival in Pelt, Belgium and “The Art of Existence” exhibition, curated by “The Holy Art Gallery” in London.

Publications

Designerati, Asset Magazine SA, SMB News Daily, and Office Snapshots.

I continued my work with charities including the British Red Cross, The Compass Collective, TASSC International, and in support of Ukrainian children that have suffered trauma from their experiences. In November I supported the Babylon Migrants Project as part of their “Community through Creativity” programme by volunteering to run a series of Photography workshops for refugees, asylum seekers and migrants.

At the end of 2023 I made the move to a mirrorless camera system with Nikon Z8 cameras, and a selection of lenses purchased from Grays of Westminster. I also signed up for their mirrorless camera masterclass, run by Simon Stafford, as I believe that you should always be looking to learn more.

In 2024 I am working on three significant exhibitions, expanding my “Portraits of Resilience” project, and have a number of exciting assignments in various parts of the world. I wish you all a happy new year and hope that there is the opportunity of working with you at some point in 2024.
