Intelligence fuels imagination
Nando’s Northampton Sixfields is a standout restaurant that was shortlisted for a number of architectural and interior design awards and featured in various publications.
So why?
“The most powerful design starts long before the first sketch. It begins with understanding how people live, what they crave, and what makes them feel they belong. Intelligence fuels imagination when it’s guided by empathy. Insight becomes atmosphere, data turns into emotion, and design moves from function to feeling”. Harrison Design
Nando’s partners itself with creatives that understand the brand and, contribute to the unique shifting brand perceptive. The Northampton Sixfields restaurant was designed by Harrison with an understanding that its not just about shaping spaces, it’s about shaping how people connect.
I worked with Jack Elsom in advance of the photoshoot to gain an understanding and appreciation of the design. Some photographers are not overtly keen on having any sort of direction. I value architects / designers input as they have spent more time in the space and know their projects better than anyone.
My approach has always been the same, explore, understand and capture. I never get too tied up with the number of photographs I am taking at the time, as it is a process of being excited about what I am seeing. It is a fallacy that the more photos you take the more likely you will achieve something great. Each one has a value, in the same way that any other creative develops their final work.
The final selection is about storytelling and delivering a set of photographs that captures the essence of Nando’s alongside the design of the restaurant.
