King & Spalding, 8 Bishops Gate – Exceptional Delivery

Architecture

Overbury Fit Out’s contribution to the strong results released last week by parent company, Morgan Sindall Group plc represented a 37% revenue increase. This was another record for the Group highlighting the strength and breadth of their operations, as well as the talent and commitment of their people across the Fit Out division. I am proud to have photographed their projects for over twenty years, from my very first photoshoot of the Ivensys offices on the 25th floor of Portland House in London, to recent projects such as the incredible King and Spalding headquarters at 8 Bishops Gate, London.

Overbury’s approach places “collaboration” at the forefront of all their projects. It is about exceptional delivery, from passionate people, coming in on budget, working with the best subcontractors, applying innovative technology throughout, and ensuring a conscientious environmental and social impact.

I have always set out to photograph / capture the design of the space, quality of finish, and their meticulous attention to detail. King & Spalding’s London headquarters is a exemplifies Overbury’s vision of excellence and innovation, featuring a statement helical staircase at its centre (by Alpine Group), connecting five floors with bespoke joinery and high-end finishes.

Overbury collaborated on the 41,235 sq. ft. office at 8 Bishopsgate with a team of project partners that included TP Bennett, AVI-SPL, bap, Cameron & Payne, Cundall, Cushman & Wakefield, EQUATION Lighting Design, Hoare Lea, and Sandy Brown. The main objective was to create a work environment that maintained King & Spalding’s reputation for delivering world class solutions for their clients, with a focus on collaboration and quality.

The King & Spalding project also included various social value initiatives that generated a significant amount of value for the local economy.
