London Peace Conference forum

Humanitarian

Yesterday evening I was invited as a speaker to the Afghanistan and Central Asian Association (ACAA), London Peace Conference forum. I was asked to talk about my humanitarian photography and the “Portraits of Resilience” project.

The 15th of August “Learning from Aid Delivery in Afghanistan, Lessons Learned” conference marked two years since the fall of Kabul and the capture by the Taliban. The evening was chaired by Shabnam Nasimi, Former UK Government Policy Advisor and featured a keynote speech from Rt Hon Tobias Ellwood MP.

There was a question-and-answer session that posed some interesting discussion and debate. We then enjoyed some incredible food and traditional Live Afghan Music by Ustad Yusuf.

The Afghanistan and Central Asian Association (ACAA) is an award-winning British charity based in London and was established in 2000 by its founder and director, Dr Nasimi MBE. It has a long history of delivering grassroots services in the UK and promoting human rights inside Afghanistan.
