Midwinter Music Marathon
Join us on Sunday 15th December at the Jago in Dalston for the Midwinter Music Marathon with Compass Collective and guests including, actor DJ duo Toby Jones and Ben Miles. There will also be performances from refugee and asylum-seeking choir ‘Woven Gold’ and young artists from Compass and Good Chance, with more SPECIAL GUESTS to be announced.
I will be moving to the beat as I capture the event, photographing the passion and energy of the incredible music artists.
We will be keeping music in the air for 12 hours with a jamming circle, live performances, musicians from around the Globe and guest artists, and a DJ set! The daytime will be full of jamming and music workshops, followed by a night of live performances, and DJ sets.
Compass Collective is an award-winning arts charity that assists unaccompanied minor refugees and young people seeking asylum to build resilience successfully integrate into the UK. They achieve this through a variety of projects including creative English language classes, theatre, music, and film projects and professional development programmes. They support approximately 500 young people aged 14-28 a year, in over 28 locations in the UK.
Every year Compass Collective runs an 8-month music project, where young people learn song writing, recording, beats, editing, producing skills at Promised Lands Studios. We are fundraising to continue this work and support more young people to access our programmes.
