Nando’s UK 2026 Heatwave
2026 has brought another heatwave of new and newly refurbished Nando’s restaurants, with more than fifteen new openings and over 35 refurbishments across England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales.
I have travelled to all four corners of the United Kingdom photographing these stunning additions to the Nando’s PERi-PERi portfolio.
Last week, I photographed the new Nando’s Fforestfach Retail Park restaurant in Wales, designed by Fusion DNA. I chose to shoot it at dusk to capture the restaurant lights glowing. The interior celebrates Nando’s heritage with bespoke hand-woven and beaded lighting by Ashanti Design, Mash T. Design and The Handmade Story in Africa.
Nando’s marked its 500th restaurant with the opening of its new Leatherhead location. To commemorate this achievement, the location features a PERi-Red Plaque on the premises. Moreno Masey designed the interior with vivid colours, natural materials, bold patterns and intricate textiles across the furniture, lighting and surfaces.
One of my favourite restaurants of the year has been Galway, Ireland. Harrison Design transformed a long-empty site with an almost complete rebuild, retaining only a few internal walls. The result is an award-winning restaurant with a striking exterior façade, a thoughtful interior layout and an incredible Ashanti feature lighting.
Last but by no means least, the newly refurbished Nando’s Livingston restaurant in Scotland is another Fusion DNA project that turns up the heat. The restaurant has received a PERi-PERi palette glow-up, brought to life through ongoing collaborations with South African designers across a range of elements.
It appears that Nando’s gets the temperature just right.
