Photographing the headquarters of a global investment giant

Architecture

I recently photographed the newly refurbished 50,000 sq ft headquarters of a global investment giant in Soho, London.

The executive architect, Studio Stockholm Arkitectekur, has worked with the company since 2016 on a number of their offices around the world. The office space concept was developed to welcome the company’s global clients as well as cater for their employee’s requirements.

The London headquarters is set over three floors with a specialist feature staircase connecting them all. Studio Stockholm have incorporated high quality natural materials with a meticulous attention to detail. The client-facing areas have been designed in collaboration with lighting and acoustic experts, including high end furnishings with selected artworks. The private offices and meeting rooms, collaborative work areas, quiet zones, and agile/hybrid workstations all include high tech features and levels of security.

The headquarters feature an event space with a catering kitchen, tea points, lounge, and breakout area plus a library, all with circadian rhythm lighting throughout. The build was managed by Storey with Barr Gazetas as the collaborating architects and Corley + Woolley Limited being the main contractor. The team has achieved a score of 45/45 for the CCS, with the project being Net Zero Carbon, achieving WELL Platinum and is Social Enterprise UK Certified. The result is a beautifully designed, healthy, and sustainable space.
