My photography of Nando’s award-winning Tunbridge Wells restaurant features in an article published in the latest “Premier Hospitality Magazine”.
Premier Hospitality Magazine is one of the leading UK publications dedicated to showcasing the most exciting and innovative hospitality design, architecture, interiors, and fit-out projects across the hotel, restaurant, bar, and leisure sectors.
The Tunbridge Wells restaurant occupies a narrow Victorian building next to the Royal Victoria Shopping Centre. The structure has undergone multiple changes in use, losing its original identity.
Fusion Design and Architecture created a bold, modern peri-peri interior that honours the brand’s heritage while evolving the Nando’s story. The design effectively reflects the brand’s ‘progressive African’ identity, incorporating distinctive textures and colours within a well-organised and efficient layout.
Fusion dna worked with I-AM WOW interior fitout to expose the original brick and structural steel, then added hand-glazed tiles by Smink Studio, cork wall finishes, laser-cut timber, and a vivid green staircase to bring depth, warmth, and energy to a tight and complex site.
The lighting includes feature pendants from Mash T Studio, and Wiid Design, which alongside the integration of South African art and custom-made furniture, amplifies the space with cultural identity and authenticity.
Tunbridge Wells just had to be special, as it is my local!
