What is Travel Photography?
Earlier this year I was approached by a government agency to present a portfolio of images (and information about myself) in support of collaborating on a number of tourism marketing projects.
The portfolio was to be predominantly travel photography but needed to reflect images which would be required to represent the ambitious journey of growing the economy, empowering citizens, creating a vibrant environment for both local and international investors, and setting them apart from anywhere else.
I believe that travel photography is about understanding a countries culture. It is photography that captures the heritage of the people that live there, as well as the future of the next generation. This can be seen in the architecture, music, food, fashion and sports. Travel photography is photographing landscapes, cityscapes, portraits, documentary photos of people engaged in sport or playing music – dancing. It is showing the rest of the world the uniqueness of the place.
