Nando’s partners with local charities
Every Nando’s restaurant builds their own partnerships with local charities and has the freedom to choose which ones they’d like to support, based on their local knowledge of what’s needed in that area. They know how important it is to make personal connections and get things done quickly, so they leave the red tape out and let them get on with it. To do this, they’ve created an easy-to-access community fund for each region, which means they can reach more people in a more personal way and make a real difference to each local community.
I photographed the new Nando’s restaurant in Basildon Square, a short walk from the main train station.
Fusion Design and Architecture have designed the restaurant including bespoke light fittings from UK designer Flo and Joe, concrete sinks and wall panelling from Concrete Carrot and unique art, portal mirrors and benches from South Africa.
They have also worked within the Nando’s sustainable fit-out guidelines using recycled timber for the huge fascia. Nando’s also donated most of the restaurant furniture from the old Eastgate restaurant to the dementia charity BIADS as part of their community project to transform an empty storeroom into a space for coffee and chats.
Available for Eat-in, Collect and Delivery, it’s perfect for grabbing a bite whatever your plans.
