Celebrating Microsoft’s 50 years

Last Friday Microsoft celebrated its 50th anniversary! I have been supplying them with photography for the past ten years covering some incredible projects from underwater datacentres to quantum computing, and various AI related projects. They are a company that I am always excited to work with whatever the assignment.
Fifty years ago, Bill and Paul started Microsoft with a simple but powerful idea: to build technology so people everywhere could build more technology. The very first product Microsoft built was the Basic interpreter for the Altair, giving people the power to create software, jumpstarting the PC revolution, and creating an entirely new sector for the economy.
But whilst its interesting to reflect on the past 50 years, we should really look to the next 50 years. It’s not about longevity, but relevance. Microsoft’s future will not be defined by what they have built, but what they empower others to build.
I personally can’t wait to see what my next assignment will be as well as what is next with Copilot and everything that they have install for us.
