“Portraits of Resilience” exhibition printing

Exhibition, Humanitarian

Last week I spent the morning at Metro Imaging going through the set of photographs selected for the “Portraits of Resilience” exhibition at the United Nation’s Palais des Nations in Geneva. It is always an interesting process working with a retoucher and printer.

We discussed the work and what I was looking for in the final prints. Behind every photographer’s exhibition is a master printer … and for “Portraits of Resilience” it is the senior printer of Metro Imaging with over twenty years of experience, Manish. And behind Manish … well his dog Bella who was very vocal when it suited her!

Metro Imaging are supporting “Portraits of Resilience” with the prints and framing. I have been going to Metro Imaging on and off since the early 1990’s. They are now one of Europe’s leading professional photographic labs for art printing, film processing, retouching, mounting, framing and exhibition services.

“Portraits of Resilience” features photographs of survivors of torture from around the world who fled their home countries seeking safety, recovery, and political asylum. The exhibition will run between Monday 24th of March and Friday 4th of April during the 58th session of the Human Rights Council.
