SILVER AWARD at the Lens Op De Mens International Photo Festival

I was a winner at the “Lens op de Mens International Photo Festival” in Pelt, Belgium, receiving the Silver Award in the professional photographer’s category.
The award ceremony was held at the CC Palethe in Pelt hosted by Carine Van Gerven, the President, and Johan Brouwers, vice-president and chairman of the competition jury.
The Lens op de Mens international photo festival is a summer of photography, starting on the 8 June and ending on the 28 September 2025. It is a biannual festival, where the photographs line the streets and fill the buildings of the city of Pelt in Belgium.
Through an open call, both professional photographers and passionate amateurs from all over the world are invited to show their best work to a wide audience. An international jury, composed of experienced professional photographers, selected the photographs that are exhibited throughout the summer along a course of about 3 kilometres, spread over the streets and squares of the centre of Pelt.
In addition, there are numerous guest exhibitions by renowned photographers from around the world, including names such as Roger Ballen, Stefano De Luigi, Chloe Rosser, Lieve Blancquaert, Vladimír Židlický, Koen Suidgeest, Cecilie Hatløy, Hanna Neret and many others. After four successful editions, Lens op de Mens has become a fixture within the international photo festivals. With more than 30,000 visitors from all over Belgium and far beyond, it is also the largest open-air photo exhibition in the country.
Both in the amateur and professional photographers’ category, a Gold, Silver and Bronze Award are presented and several Honorable Mentions. In addition to these awards, prizes are also awarded for Creativity and for the Most Promising Young Photographer of -30 years.
The main theme of Lens op de Mens remains ‘the human being’, but for this 5th edition, there is also a sub-theme of human vulnerability.
